Carla David is a talented and much sought after graphic design artist with lifelong interests in art, design, antiques, paper, fashion, fine foods, music and travel. In fact, travel has been much a part of her life as she has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. In her spare time Carla can be found antiquing, playing the french horn or the piano, baking delicious deserts (much to the delight of her family and friends) or heading out on a travel adventure, exploring quaint cities with her husband.

Carla grew up in the Monterey/Carmel region of California, and in her twenties, decided to study abroad and moved to England. This proved to be a life changing experience as it was here that she met and fell in love with her husband. Having absorbed British history, culture and a love for all things tea she decided it was time to move back to the United States. Wanting to experience southern hospitality and lifestyle, she settled in the south. After a few wonderful years in the south, and a new found love for country and gospel music, she eventually moved north and has made the Washington DC area her present home.

Her relationship with paper began in the most formative manner. At the age of ten with her best friend she designed stationary to sell to her neighbors to earn money for summer camp. This sparked a love for design that has become her life’s passion and career. Prior to starting Carla David Design, Carla worked as the Art Director for an international company. She has over 10 years of design experience and holds two degrees, one in Art the other in Graphic Design. In 2011 Carla started Say Cheese! Paper Props an online boutique offering chic paper props, banners and signs. In 2012 Carla David Design birthed The Dazzling Details Wedding Bazaar a shopping experience for the bride and her girlfriends. In 2013 Carla opened an online sShop offering a curated collection of stylish party goods.

Carla is a woman with exceptionally high personal standards, an avid supporter of the arts and non-profit organizations, and one who values and welcomes genuine collaborations. Her design levels a clean, couture sophistication that has garnered her a reputation for outstanding design details as well as the ability to establish a relationship with her clients that is described as “someone who becomes your friend.” She is professional, fun, friendly and trustworthy. Carla firmly believes that each design resembles a piece of artwork.
